What you're agreeing to.
Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using SyncShot, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
License grant
Subject to these Terms and to a current, paid-up subscription, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use SyncShot for your own use while your subscription remains active.
Single activation per subscription. A subscription activates SyncShot on one Mac. The activation is bound to that Mac's hardware identifier and is not transferable at will. If you need to move to a different Mac — for example because of hardware failure, theft, or a new purchase — email hello@syncshot.io and we will migrate the activation for you. The subscription is for a single user; please buy additional subscriptions for other people or additional Macs.
Subscription, pricing, renewal.
Purchase — subscription
SyncShot is sold as an annual subscription. Checkout completes at Paddle's secure hosted page. The current price is $49/year ($4/month, billed yearly), plus any applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax collected by Paddle.
Paid subscriptions begin immediately at checkout. SyncShot offers a 14-day free trial with no card required, so you can fully evaluate Pro before paying. Because of that pre-purchase trial, paid charges are non-refundable except as described in section 05 below. You can cancel at any time from your account page, which routes to Paddle's customer portal.
The subscription renews automatically once per year on the anniversary of your purchase date, at the rate in effect on your original subscription (see section 04 below). Paddle emails an itemised receipt for the initial purchase and for every renewal.
Founding-rate grandfathering
The price you sign up at is locked for as long as your subscription stays active. If we raise prices, your renewal stays at the rate on your original subscription. This protection ends if you cancel and re-subscribe later — you would then be billed at the rate in effect on the day you re-subscribe.
We may, at our discretion, send notice of price changes affecting renewals (other than tax adjustments imposed by your jurisdiction) at least 30 days before they take effect, but we make no commitment to raise prices on existing subscribers; the grandfathering above is the binding rule.
What you get
While your subscription is active you receive:
- Use of SyncShot on one Mac, including all minor and major updates released during the subscription period.
- License validation and device migration — see section 02.
- Support via email at hello@syncshot.io.
If your subscription ends — by cancellation, payment failure, or non-renewal — the app stops accepting new sync jobs at its next license check (with a short grace period for clock skew and network outages). Re-subscribing restores access.
What you can and can't do.
Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of SyncShot, except as expressly allowed in these Terms.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, trademarks, or labels.
- Rent, lease, sublicense, resell, or redistribute the software.
- Use the software to infringe anyone's rights or to break the law.
- Attempt to bypass the licensing system, including by sharing your account.
Your files
You retain all rights to the files SyncShot copies. SyncShot does not upload, inspect, or store your file contents on our servers — copies happen directly between the source you selected and the destinations you selected. See the Privacy Policy for what we do collect.
Third-party destinations
When you copy to a third-party destination — for example, Google Drive — your use of that service is governed by that service's own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or behaviour of third-party destinations you choose.
Updates and changes to the software
We may release updates to fix bugs, add features, or improve security. Some updates are required — for example, security patches or updates needed for compatibility with a new macOS release. We try to avoid breaking how you work, but we reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
Liability and termination.
Ownership
SyncShot, the SyncShot name, the app, and all related intellectual property are and remain the exclusive property of the SyncShot team. These Terms grant you a license to use the software, not any rights of ownership.
Warranty disclaimer
SyncShot is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Important: SyncShot is a tool for making copies of your files. You are responsible for your own backups. Verify that copies landed on the destinations you care about before deleting the original.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to SyncShot is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data or loss of profit.
Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time and stop using SyncShot. Your license terminates automatically if you breach these Terms or if your subscription lapses. On termination you must stop using the software and delete all copies. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy.
Refunds
Paid SyncShot Pro subscriptions are non-refundable. The 14-day free trial — every Pro feature, no card required — is the evaluation period. By choosing to upgrade after the trial, you commit to the annual subscription. Whether you use the product during that year is your decision; we don't bill by usage. Cancelling stops the renewal at the end of your paid year, but does not refund the year in progress. See the Refund Policy for full details.
