The short version.

ShotPut Pro is the cross-platform verified-offload tool with years of DIT credibility, MHL output, and ImagineProducts ecosystem integration. Runs on Mac and Windows.

SyncShot is Mac-only and photographer-focused. iPhone and Android land in the same job as the SD card; NAS, S3, Google Drive, SFTP, and FTP are bundled destinations at Pro. $49 a year.

If half the team is on Windows or the downstream pipeline requires MHL, ShotPut Pro is the safer pick. If you're a Mac photographer who also wants the iPhone shots copied verified, SyncShot fits.

Where SyncShot pulls ahead.

Three axes where SyncShot reaches further for working photographers.

iPhone and Android in the same job
AFC for iPhone, ADB or MTP for Android — selection, organize-by, and verification work identically to cards. ShotPut Pro's focus has always been camera mags and drives.
Cloud destinations bundled at the base tier
S3 (AWS, B2, R2, Wasabi, MinIO), Google Drive, SFTP, FTP, and NAS over SMB — at Pro, $49/year, no add-on. ShotPut Pro focuses on local destinations.
Photographer-shaped UI
RAW + sidecar awareness, organize-by-date / month / device / type, conflict resolution by EXIF date, Welcome standby console. Less DIT report, more photographer workflow.

Where ShotPut Pro is stronger.

Honest about what ImagineProducts does that SyncShot won't.

Windows parity
ShotPut Pro runs on Mac and Windows. SyncShot is Mac-only. If the cart, the assistant, or the post bay is on Windows, ShotPut Pro is the answer.
MHL sidecar output
ShotPut Pro writes ASC MHL. SyncShot doesn't. If the downstream archive vendor expects MHL, ShotPut Pro stays in the chain.
DIT report formatting
ShotPut Pro has years of report-format muscle memory for production accounting and post handoff. SyncShot exports a CSV; ShotPut Pro exports a production-formatted document.
ImagineProducts ecosystem
PreRollPost, Primera Bravo Disc Publisher, myShotPut — if any of those are in the pipeline, ShotPut Pro plugs in directly.

When to pick which.

By workflow.

Cross-platform team (Mac + Windows)
ShotPut Pro.
DIT handing off MHL to post
ShotPut Pro.
Wedding shooter wanting cloud backup on-site
SyncShot. S3 / Google Drive in the bundle; multipart resumes if the venue Wi-Fi drops.
Pipeline already includes ImagineProducts tools
ShotPut Pro. The integration is the point.

Questions photographers ask.

Lifted from the FAQ.

Is SyncShot a ShotPut Pro alternative on Mac?
Yes — for the Mac side of ShotPut's audience. SyncShot is a macOS app for photographers that automatically backs up photos and videos from cameras, cards, and phones to multiple destinations you control — NAS, S3, Google Drive, SFTP, and FTP — verified end to end with BLAKE3 checksums. ShotPut Pro is the cross-platform verified-offload incumbent with MHL output and ImagineProducts pipeline integration.
Does SyncShot work on Windows?
No — SyncShot is macOS only (13 Ventura and up). If the workflow needs Windows parity, ShotPut Pro is the better fit; it ships on both platforms.
Does SyncShot do MHL like ShotPut Pro?
No. ShotPut Pro writes ASC MHL sidecars — the standard handoff between DIT, post, and archive. SyncShot uses BLAKE3 verification and exports a CSV job report, but does not emit MHL today.
Does SyncShot copy from iPhone and Android?
Yes. iPhone over AFC after the Trust prompt, Android over ADB (USB debugging) or MTP. Both expose the camera roll / DCIM tree directly in SyncShot. ShotPut Pro is built for camera mags and drives; phones aren't a first-class source.
Can SyncShot copy to cloud and network destinations?
Yes — S3, Google Drive, SFTP, FTP, and NAS over SMB are all destinations at Pro. ShotPut Pro focuses on local destinations; cloud delivery is handled separately in the ImagineProducts ecosystem.
What about pricing?
SyncShot Pro is $49/year — one Mac, unlimited jobs, every destination included. ShotPut Pro is sold as an annual subscription at a higher tier, with ImagineProducts add-ons priced separately.
